The RadBeacon Config App is the configuration utility for RadBeacon proximity beacons from Radius Networks that support Apple's iBeacon™ proximity services and Radius Networks AltBeacon™ proximity services, as well as other emerging proximity services.
The RadBeacon app from Radius Networks is supported on iOS 7.1 or higher, Android 4.3 or higher and OS X 10.9 or higher. In all cases the hardware platform must be equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities.
With the RadBeacon app you can scan for nearby configurable Radius Networks beacons. Once discovered, you can display each beacon's operating settings and make modifications to those settings.
Configuration of a RadBeacon proximity beacons requires a PIN of four (4) or eight (8) digits depending on the model and firmware version. The factory default PIN is all zeros, so in the case of a 4 digit pin, that would be 0000. In the case of an 8 digit pin, that would be 00000000. It is highly recommended that you make a priority of changing the PIN for your RadBeacon.
RadBeacons are only configurable for a period of 30 minutes after they are initially powered. After this 30 minutes period elapses, the RadBeacon will no longer be connectable from other Bluetooth 4.0 devices. This feature is a security precaution to limit the possibility of third-party manipulation of your RadBeacons once they have been installed and configured.
If you are unable to discover your RadBeacon proximity beacon using the RadBeacon app, remove and restore power to the device and try again.
